How Life Skills GO complements Macquarie Fields’ existing PBL and Berry Street practices, supporting whole-school wellbeing and engagement.
Respond early, not after a concern has escalated
In school communities, staff are managing competing priorities across students, classrooms and year groups. Real-time, evidence-informed insight into student wellbeing helps leaders and teachers act while there is still time to make a difference.
A real school, not a theory
This is a large NSW public school six months into implementation, sharing what worked, what took time, and what they would do differently.
Data you can act on
See how daily check-in data, triangulated with School Bytes behaviour and attendance information, surfaces need earlier across the whole school.
Sustainable, not another initiative
A model that sits alongside PBL and Berry Street practice rather than competing with it, so every student is known, valued and cared for.
About our experts
Three school leaders living this work every day, in conversation with Life Skills GO.
Kristy Byrne has more than 20 years of teaching experience across Kindergarten to Year 6 and has served as Deputy Principal at Macquarie Fields Public School for the past six years, co-leading a range of whole-school student wellbeing initiatives. She has also worked as a Positive Behaviour for Learning Coach, supporting other schools to successfully implement PBL, and previously held roles as an Instructional Leader and Assistant Principal, where she developed a strong passion for instructional leadership, school improvement and building the capacity of others.
Kylie Jarman has been teaching for many years, most of her career at Macquarie Fields Public School, and has taught across every year level. She spent more than a decade as Assistant Principal supervising a stage, before moving into the role of Assistant Principal Learning Support four years ago, focusing on supporting students with additional learning needs and behaviour challenges.
Ainsley Paige is Assistant Principal of Kindergarten at Macquarie Fields Public School, with eight years of teaching experience. She became a teacher to inspire a lifelong love of learning and to support students with additional needs to reach their full potential, and is passionate about behaviour support and student wellbeing, dedicated to creating inclusive classrooms where every child feels safe, valued and connected.
Marcus Barr is an Educational Partnerships Manager at Life Skills GO, working alongside schools across Australia to build whole-school wellbeing practices that last. Over the past two years, Marcus has partnered with school leaders, wellbeing teams and support staff, both on-site and remotely, guiding schools through National Check-In Week and Life Skills GO to strengthen early identification and drive genuine school improvement. His focus is making sure every child is seen, heard and supported, catching concerns before they become something much larger and ensuring no student falls through the cracks. Marcus brings a practical, hands-on approach to partnership, helping schools turn student voice and wellbeing data into everyday action.
