Six Months In: Turning Wellbeing Data into Action
Macquarie Fields Public School × Life Skills GO. A six-month update, in the words of the leaders who lived it.
Meet the Speakers
Four Macquarie Fields Public School leaders and a Life Skills GO educational partnerships manager sat down to talk through what the first six months of embedding real-time student voice data has actually looked like on the ground.
What You Will Learn
The session was built for school leaders and staff who want a practical, warts-and-all look at embedding whole-school student voice data, not a highlight reel. Across 45 minutes, the panel works through five practical areas.
Real-time data for earlier support
How staff use real-time student voice data to help identify students who may need support earlier, and target that support before concerns escalate.
Emotional literacy at scale
What it takes to embed emotional literacy and consistent check-ins across a large staff and student population, without adding to an already busy day.
Working with existing systems
How the school connects School Bytes with behaviour tracking, so staff are not left building parallel reports or spreadsheets to see the whole picture.
Building staff confidence
What helped teachers build confidence using a new digital tool for check-ins, and how leadership supported that shift.
Complementing PBL and Berry Street practices
How Life Skills GO sits alongside the school's existing Positive Behaviour for Learning and Berry Street practices, adding whole-school visibility rather than replacing what already works.
Who Is Macquarie Fields Public School?
Public School
Macquarie Fields Public School is a large public school in south west Sydney, and a Life Skills GO partner since early 2026.
The school runs Positive Behaviour for Learning and Berry Street practices alongside Life Skills GO, with School Bytes as its student information system. Across a large staff and student population, the leadership team has been working through what it takes to embed consistent, whole-school check-ins without adding to an already full day.
This session brings together four of the school's leaders to talk through the first six months in their own words, including what has worked, what took adjusting, and what they would tell another large public school considering the same path.

About Life Skills GO
Life Skills GO is an Australian-built, early identification, engagement, learning and school improvement platform. Wellbeing is one of the key indicators it uses, alongside attendance, behaviour and engagement, to give schools real-time visibility of what may be preventing students from attending, participating, belonging and learning.
The platform was built over nine years, in direct partnership with more than 1,000 Australian schools across government, Catholic and independent sectors. It automatically surfaces the right information to the right person at the right time, without adding to school-based staff workload, so schools can identify concerns early, respond before escalation and measure improvement over time.
Key partner Professor Mark Williams OAM, a cognitive neuroscientist at Macquarie University, works alongside the Life Skills GO team to keep the platform grounded in the science of readiness to learn, self-regulation and belonging.
Who This Session Is For
This replay is most useful to school leaders and staff who are either already thinking about whole-school visibility, or currently weighing up whether a platform like this is right for their context.
- Principals, Deputy Principals and Assistant Principals weighing up whole-school approaches to student voice and early identification.
- Wellbeing coordinators and student support teams looking for practical detail on embedding consistent check-ins.
- Classroom teachers currently embedding check-ins and social and emotional learning in their day.
- Schools using School Bytes or Sentral who want to see how a large public school connected these systems.
- Schools evaluating whole-school platforms that support early identification, engagement and school improvement.
